Anime Log is a personal anime tracker. This page says plainly what it stores, who can see it, and how to get rid of it. There is no advertising on the site, and nothing here is sold or shared with data brokers.
What is stored
- Your email address: used to sign in and to send confirmation and password-reset messages. Nothing else.
- Your password: stored only as a one-way hash. Nobody, including the site's owner, can read it.
- Your username: this is how friends find you.
- Your library: the titles you track, which list each is on, your scores, episode progress, and any notes you write.
- Your friends: who you have connected with, and what you have chosen to share with them.
What other people can see
- Your email address is never shown to anyone. Other people see your username and nothing else about your account.
- Friends see only what you switch on in the Friends panel: your lists, your Not interested list, your scores, your episode progress. Each is separately controllable and can be turned off at any time.
- Your notes are never shared with anyone, and there is no setting that would share them.
- Scores contribute anonymously to a public median for each title, shown only once at least three people have rated it. Individual scores and identities are never part of it.
Who else is involved
The site runs on services that necessarily handle some of this data:
- Supabase: stores the database and handles sign-in. Hosted in the United States.
- Vercel: serves the website itself.
- Resend: delivers confirmation and password-reset email.
- Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google, in which case Google tells the site your email address and name.
- AniList: supplies the catalogue: titles, cover art, synopses. Your browser fetches this directly, and nothing about your library is sent to them.
Deleting everything
Open Settings and choose Delete my account. It removes your account, your whole library and your friend connections immediately and permanently. You can take a copy first with the Export button, which downloads your library as a file.
Tracking
There are no advertising or analytics trackers on this site, and no third-party tracking cookies. The site keeps a copy of your library in your browser so it works quickly and offline, and stores a sign-in token so you are not asked to sign in repeatedly.
Children
Anime Log is not directed at children under 13 and accounts are not knowingly created for them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
Contact
If you have an account, the quickest route is Settings → Report a problem. It goes straight to the person who runs the site.
Otherwise, including for a request to remove your data by hand, write to support@theanimelog.com.
